From July 11th to 13th, our lab members attended the 5th Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation (FUN24) Conference at the University of Toronto. Erica McCune and Seongyeon Kim presented lectures about their research, while Jonas Bendig and Samuel Blackman showcased posters.

This June, BME Blaze is highlighting Sua Bae and her groundbreaking research in ultrasound imaging and therapy. Sua’s work focuses on developing novel techniques for focused ultrasound treatments, particularly for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and brain tumors, making significant strides in non-invasive medical treatments. Congratulations to Stephen Lee and the team for their outstanding work, "Functional Cerebral Neurovascular Mapping During Focused Ultrasound Peripheral Neuromodulation of Neuropathic Pain," which has been featured as a highlighted article and selected for the cover of IEEE TBME. We are delighted to announce that Rebecca Noel has successfully defended her PhD dissertation, titled "Characterization of the Neuroprotective and Immunotherapeutic Potential of Focused Ultrasound Blood-Brain Barrier Opening with and without Drug Delivery in Alzheimer's Disease." Her research contributes significantly to the ongoing efforts in Alzheimer's disease treatment.

Dr. S. Jiménez-Gambín will be presenting the research line developed at UEIL on "Alzheimer's Disease treatments using neuronavigation-guided FUS" on the "New trends in ultrasound applications" Erasmus Mundus Master WAVES - Summer School, June 17th-20th, 2024, Gandía (Spain), invited by Universitat Politècnica de València.
