Biography

Ethan was born in 1992 in Phoenix, AZ. He obtained his first bachelor's degree in French at the University of Oregon in 2013, after which he changed fields to study physics. He received his second Bachelor's in Physics at City College of New York in 2018. As an undergraduate at City College, he conducted research under Dr. Robert Alfano at the Institute for Ultrafast Spectroscopy and Lasers. He investigated the interaction of matter with laser beams carrying orbital angular momentum, as well as imaging and diagnosis of breast cancer tumors using Raman spectroscopy and multi-photon microscopy. During the summer of 2017, he also worked with Dr. Joseph Deasy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City developing improved methods of radiation therapy treatment planning for lung cancer patients.
