In this spotlight, Yangpei shared how he initially became interested in the field of biomedical engineering, which includes utilizing the technical intersection of engineering and medicine to better the lives of many patients' outcomes. He chose Columbia to pursue this goal due to ability to collaborate with oncologists and surgeons, and how our lab is located within the medical center!
Yangpei also reflected on his research milestones in applying ultrasound elastography to predict clinical outcomes for neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer. He is especially excited about the future of therapy and drug delivery, and the potential to translate these innovations into the clinic.
