Biography

Yusuke Niimi got M.D. at Tokyo Medical and Dental University (Tokyo, Japan) in 2002. After several years working as a neurologist, he enrolled in Ph.D. program at Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He engaged in RNA pathogenesis of SCA31 (spinocerebellar ataxia type 31) using the cellular model. In 2016 he went to Rutgers University (Newark, NJ) to study neuroregeneration and inflammatory reaction after stroke. In 2017 he joined UEIL at Columbia University. His research interests are BBB function, histological change after FUS, and how to deliver small molecules or drugs to brains efficiently.
