Biography
Seongyeon Kim graduated from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), earned Bachelor of Science in 2017 and Master of Science in 2019 with a major of Electrical Engineering. As his master thesis, he conducted research on transcranial focused ultrasound stimulation with high spatial resolution and a miniaturized ultrasound transducer for freely moving mice under Professor Hyunjoo Jenny Lee. Before Joining UEIL, he worked for TmaxSoft, Korea, for three years, as a backend engineer to fulfill military duty. Seongyeon joined UEIL as a PhD student in the fall of 2022 and his research interests include focused ultrasound neuromodulation and functional ultrasound imaging.
