Biography

Rosalía obtained her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia Engineering in 2024. Her research journey began at Dr. Tal Danino's Synthetic Biological Systems Laboratory, where she was introduced to machine and deep learning concepts through a project focused on engineering bacterial pattern formation for developing cell-based biosensors. Following the conclusion of the project, Rosalía joined Nobel Prize winner Dr. Richard Axel's Laboratory, where she concentrated on preprocessing and analyzing electrophysiological data. In June 2024, Rosalía joined the Ultrasound Elasticity and Imaging Lab as a research assistant. She collaborates with the PWI and Cardiac Team, assisting with clinical cardiac and vascular imaging studies, and the preprocessing and segmentation of ultrasound images. This role provides her with hands-on experience in applying data science and analysis methods, which aligns with her plans to pursue a Master's in Data Science.
