Biography

Parth graduated in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and a minor in industrial design from the Georgia Institute of Technology. As an undergraduate, he worked in both the García Lab led by Dr. Andrés García and the Gleason Lab led by Dr. Rudolph Gleason. In the García Lab, Parth conducted research on the differentiation of stem cells and the development of a cell perifusion system to test the insulin secretion response of β cells to glucose stimulation. In the Gleason Lab, Parth’s research focused on the development of a low-cost, noninvasive device for the early diagnosis of preeclampsia in low-resource settings by using photoplethysmography(PPG) to characterize arterial stiffness. Parth joined UEIL in the Fall of 2021 as a biomedical engineering student in the M.S. leading to PhD track. His research will focus on pulse wave imaging for vascular disease detection.
