Biography

Marilena was born in April 1987 in Athens, Greece. She received her diploma in Chemical Engineering in 2010, and her Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2013. During her studies she focused on brain research and particularly on cognitive influences of the perceptual brain.

In summer 2013 she enrolled in Columbia University's Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging laboratory as a staff associate. Her research interests include microbubble preparation and generation, drug delivery, as well as histology and microscopy. As of the summer 2014, Marilena is now a Ph.D. student in Columbia University's Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory.
