Justin, from Los Angeles, California, is currently an undergraduate sophomore at Columbia University studying Computer Science. As a new intern with the Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory (UEIL), Justin is actively involved in the Targeting with a Robotic Arm for Focused Ultrasound Blood-Brain Barrier Opening that bridges technology with medical research. His current tasks focus on improving the process of transferring data from the Brainsight system to a Linux setup, a vital step for advancing focused ultrasound therapy for brain treatments. Additionally, he assists in developing safety measures for the robotic arm using the Robot Operating System (ROS), crucial for ensuring precise and secure operations. Through his work, Justin contributes to the team's efforts to apply computer science techniques to enhance medical therapies.
