Biography
Erica graduated in May 2020 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the joint department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As an undergraduate student, Erica worked in the Dayton Lab at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill under the guidance of Dr. Virginie Papadopoulou. For her research, Erica investigated the use of passive acoustic mapping for monitoring therapeutic ultrasound with contrast agents and for monitoring decompression bubbles in a diving model. She joined the UEIL as a M.S./PhD candidate in the fall of 2020. Her current research is on the use of focused ultrasound for modulating the peripheral nervous system.
