Chunqi Li

Postdoctoral Research Scientist

Academic Qualifications

  • Ph.D., Electronic and Electricity Engineering, University of Leeds, Leeds, UK

Biography

Chunqi Li obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Engineering from China. In 2022, he received his Ph.D. with the Ultrasonics and Instrumentation Group in the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Leeds, U.K with funding support fully sponsored by the U.K. His Ph.D. research project investigated high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) thermal ablation and ultrasound monitoring, including passive acoustic mapping and interleaved B-mode, as well as techniques for real-time HIFU temperature monitoring. This research was aimed at providing a full-scope and cost-effective ultrasound monitoring modality for HIFU clinical use. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at UEIL working on blood-brain barrier opening caused by rapid-short-pulse focused ultrasound for drug delivery with monitoring achieved by hybrid methods (ultrasound, MRI, CT. etc), to pave the way for the clinical translation of non-invasive transcranial focused ultrasound treatments.

Awards

  • Full scholarship from U.K. for Ph.D. research (2018-2022)
  • Full financial support from ThUNDDAR for HIFU trainings (School of Physics, Les Houches, France, 2019)
