Biography

Andre Perez is a third-year undergraduate from the Philippines, studying Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biosignals and Biomedical Imaging. He joined the Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory (UEIL) in Spring 2025 and is part of the Harmonic Motion Imaging (HMI) group.


His current research focuses on investigating the immune response of Focused Ultrasound Surgery (FUS) in the 4T1 mouse model and assisting the clinical FUS study. Andre is passionate about the intersection of medicine and engineering, a commitment he has pursued through his research in the lab, internships at Medtronic, and his role as the president and founder of LionHealth, Columbia’s first medical device engineering club.
