Study Explores Hologram-Assisted Blood-Brain Barrier Opening in Non-Human Primates
A new study by Dr. Sergio Jiménez-Gambín and the UEIL team at Columbia University, titled "Feasibility of Hologram-assisted Bilateral Blood-Brain Barrier Opening in Non-Human Primates," has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control. The paper is now available in Early Access on IEEE Xplore.
The research demonstrates a method for achieving simultaneous, multi-focus blood-brain barrier openings using acoustic holograms in a non-human primate model, with successful targeting confirmed by MRI.
