Our PI, Dr. Elisa Konofagou, Named a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors

Our PI, Dr. Elisa E. Konofagou, Robert and Margaret Hariri Professor of Biomedical Engineering, has been elected to the 2025 Class of Fellows of the National Academy of Inventors.

This honor celebrates her pioneering contributions to ultrasound-based imaging, therapy, and brain drug delivery. It also shines a spotlight on our lab’s leadership in noninvasive focused ultrasound, in the same year that Columbia was named a Focused Ultrasound Foundation Center of Excellence, one of only 14 sites worldwide, reflecting the impact of our lab’s work on the future of therapeutic ultrasound.

The announcement was followed by some champagne and cake!
