Melina Tourni, PhD, presented her latest work on the implementation of Electromechanical Wave Imaging (EWI) using a clinical, portable ultrasound scanner at the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego. Her poster, titled “Implementation of Electromechanical Mapping in a clinical, portable ultrasound scanner for fast arrhythmia localization,” was featured on April 25th from 1–3 PM PDT in the Abstract Pavilion.
This study highlights the integration of EWI into a portable, FDA-approved echocardiography system for noninvasive arrhythmia localization beyond the capabilities of standard 12-lead ECG. The innovation promises to streamline diagnosis and treatment planning by providing rapid electromechanical mapping at the bedside.
The poster presentation is a collaborative effort by Melina Tourni (presenting author), Cagla Ozsoy, PhD, Rosalia Minyety, Yaffa Wolicki, Youssef Elnabawi, Christina Proestaki, BS, Hannah Schleifer, MS, and Elisa Konofagou, PhD.
Congratulations to the team on this exciting milestone toward making EWI more accessible and clinically impactful!
