Biography

Sua received her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea, in 2012, 2014, and 2019, respectively. During her graduate studies, she visited the University of Pittsburgh, PA (2016) and Mayo Clinic, MN (2018) as a research trainee. She also worked at Sogang University as a postdoctoral researcher in 2019-2020. Her Ph.D. work focused on ultrasound beamformers, plane wave imaging, and 3-D imaging. She also worked on shear wave elastography, and passive cavitation imaging for focused ultrasound therapy.

Sua joined the Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory as a postdoctoral research scientist in November 2020. She is working on passive cavitation imaging and blood flow imaging for brain drug delivery using focused ultrasound. Her research interests include medical ultrasound imaging, signal processing, flow imaging, and focused ultrasound therapy and monitoring.
